Planning permission granted for the proposed new Welcome Centre
Published Wednesday, 12 June 2019

We are delighted to announce that planning permission for our proposed Welcome Centre has now been approved. The Welcome Centre will provide a much-needed first point of contact with our visitors and offer information on what there is to see and do at the Country Park. There will be interactive displays for people to learn about our heritage and opportunities for orientation around the Estate.

The new Welcome Centre is part of the Discovery Project Capital Works programme that will be started in Spring 2020 should we be successful with the second round bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which will allow us to restore and enhance the Country Park.

The project team would especially like to thank all those school children, park visitors, user groups and others that have taken part in the consultation process we started in January.
